We start on the 26th November with our popular Wreath Making Workshop, run by expert Rosemary Lanning, there are only a few spaces left so book early! The session runs from 11am-1pm and costs £30 which includes all materials and refreshments. Plus of course the chance to take home your beautiful unique Christmas Wreath.
The following day on Sunday 27th we will be holding a Family Christmas Crafts day. With two sessions at 11am-1pm and 2pm -4pm at the museum. Suitable for all ages come along and create your own beautiful Christmas decorations to take away. These sessions cost just £6 per child and adults go free.
Our biggest event of the Christmas period is Mulled Wine Weekend, a free event that is a wonderful beginning to your families Christmas celebrations. On the 3rd and 4th December join us for live entertainment, activities, wassailing, festive treats, Christmas shopping and of course steaming glasses of Mulled Wine!
On Saturday 10th December we will be joined by Quantum Theatre for a double bill of theatrical magic. There will be a matinee performance of The Snow Queen, Hans Christian Anderson’s magical fairy tale of best friends Gerda and Kay, when Kay is kidnapped by the evil Snow Queen; Gerda goes on an epic adventure to rescue him. In the evening Quantum will transport you to Victorian London for A Christmas Carol, Dickens’ beloved tale of Ebenezer Scrooge, who learns on Christmas Eve to value what he has in life after being visited by three spirits of Christmas. Tickets for the performances are £8 for children and £12 for adults, both performances and family friendly.
Finally on Saturday 18th December, join us for some Christmas Storytelling. Make a Christmas lantern and enjoy some traditional festive stories, at only £3 per child which includes refreshments and materials, this is a lovely event to enjoy in the rush up to the big day. Book to come at either 10am-11am or 1pm-2pm.
The Museum is open for business 10:30-4:30 Tuesday-Sunday up until Christmas Eve! Our shop is crammed full of unique gifts and stocking fillers and our Tea Parlour is well stocked with warming hot drinks, homemade soups and festive treats, why not try our deluxe hot chocolate, both are free to visit!
