Inspiring Journeys: November Blog
It’s November and the observant among you will notice that the Frank Oates Gallery did not close this month! This was due to a timetabling revision that meant we could use the gallery for a month longer, which was great! It will close in December however so that work can begin on renovations.
The Stable yard is really taking shape with the new café extension appearing and the inside of the café showing more and more character! Below is a picture taken by architect Laura Jarman of the beautiful exposed oak laths within the new café.
Work started this month on transforming the old men’s toilets into what will eventually become an artefacts store. Don’t worry men, your loos are next to the ladies now in the shop.
Behind the scenes work carries on to prepare for the new season, and we can’t wait to give you more details on our launch hopefully in May! However the new café and galleries will be open to visit hopefully from Easter on wards and we can’t wait to share these amazing new spaces!
Parts of the renovation project have already been completed and are in use, it’s great to see the garden team using their new green house to collect, sort & propagate seeds ready to sell in the new year!
Next Month we will be saying Thanks to You! It’s is because of National Lottery Players that we have the opportunity to fulfil this ambitious project! To say thank you were are joining HLF in offering free admission to anyone who has a lottery ticket between the 12th & 17th December!
What’s coming up in December? Well the Frank Oates Gallery really will close, leaving the Gilbert White & Lawrence Oates Galleries open still until Christmas Eve. Work is continuing in the house and out in our stable yard. We will remain open until Christmas Eve and then reopen on the 5th January, where you’ll find our shop has shifted into the Little Parlour.
