Today we are looking to the future!
This fit’s very well with our announcement that we are soon to be launching ourselves into an amazing new project!
Here’s a recap in case you missed the news.
The big focus will be our Stable Yard; currently in desperate need of renovation we shall be giving it new life as an entrance to our Museum. There will be new catering facilities that will allow us to serve more customers a bigger selection of home-made local delicious food. A chance for visitors also to enjoy their food whilst looking over our stunning gardens… not something we’ve been able to do before! The Yard will have access to a new shop and the Museum, plant sales and a working brew house! An exciting future indeed!
Currently the Stable Yard’s most long standing residents have been our Garden team, based in our Old FSC. They are in dire need of relocating, and I’m happy to say that the first of our projects is to build them a new purpose built Gardener’s HQ!
But’s it’s not just outside the House that has an exciting future ahead of it. We will be moving our library to provide a better space for some of the amazing books held here.
With new library and exhibition space we will finally be able to share with you treasures that we just haven’t be able to before.
Frank will be getting a makeover too! We will be renovating the Frank Oates Gallery to make it more engaging and to really share Frank’s amazing story or his travels!
What all of our plans really mean is that we are working towards a Museum that is sustainable so that future generations can enjoy it as much as we do and the visitors that have been supporting this amazing diverse Museum for the last 61 years!
