We’re about to find out what goes bump in the night at Gilbert White’s…
We’ve invited Bat expert Nik Knight to tell us more about the Bats that live in Selborne and why the Museum and the surrounding grounds are so good for these mysterious creatures!
The evening is part of Museums at Night a festival run by Culture 24, Rosie Clarke from Culture 24 explains what Museums at Night is all about ‘The twice-yearly festival aims to inspire new visitors to discover the fascinating arts and heritage highlights on their doorstep. We encourage museums to think creatively about who they could partner with to create an exciting after-hours experience, and it’s great to see the way the team at Gilbert White’s House are working together experts from Hampshire Bat Society to create an event that brings the bat colonies in their grounds to life. It’s sure to be an unforgettable evening for anyone inspired by the natural world!’
Gilbert White studied bats at length in his observations and we’re delighted to be continuing the tradition!
