With many places closed for the winter, there’s plenty to do on a January Weekend in Selborne!
1. Visit the garden
With 25 acres of garden and parkland to roam, you can certainly blow away the cobwebs with a winter walk! In 2017 we have LOWERED the price of our garden admission to just £5.50!! Winter is a beautiful time of year to visit Selborne!
Join us on the 19th as the Natural History Museum’s Steph West will be giving a talk on Bats in Natural History. A must for anyone with an interest in nature.
3. Bird watch
Gilbert White, has been credited as the one who got us all bird watching, and no wonder as his home is the perfect place to do it! So grab some binoculars, warm up warm, find a nook and see what you can find!
4. Pick up a bargain
Although our shop has moved into the little parlour whilst we work on the shop, it’s still crammed full of delightful gifts and keepsakes. Or why not have a look through our £1 book table? All the proceeds go to the upkeep of the museum!
5. Walk the zig zag
6. Enjoy a winter lunch
Gilbert White & The Oates Collections has something for everyone! From running wild through the park, to learning more about polar exploration, there’s plenty to keep everyone interested, whatever the weather.
Do something amazing in 2017! Why not develop a skill or passion and help us out. We always need an extra pair of hands, either working with our collections, working behind the scenes, welcoming our visitors or working in the garden. You name it we’ve got it!
