With your help, under the guidance of our experts, we will be collecting data throughout the day, and night on the wildlife at Gilbert White’s House. Join us to take a ‘snap shot’ of the wildlife present in our 30 acres of Garden and Parkland.
Running simultaneously with our Nature Festival admission to the Nature Festival includes admission to the daytime bioblitz activities
Day time activities include:
Bug Hunting . Pond Dipping . Bird Watching . Butterfly Transect Walk . Plant hunt
24 hour Bioblitz Activities after 5pm

7 pm Talk – Below the hanger and beyond
8.30pm Tracking Newts and Bats with Steph West from Natural History Museums Identification Trainers & Nik Knight from the Hampshire Bat Group
10pm Hot chocolate
10.30 pm Investigate Moths with Naturetrek –
Come and experience moths as they are attracted to our light traps and enjoy helping identify and record the first arrivals. We will have several moth traps set up which should provide some interest for those new to moths as well as the more experienced. Field Guides will be available to help identification.
6.30am Breakfast with Moths (Naturetrek) – Discover what we have collected overnight in our moth traps
Share in the excitement and surprise as we reveal the moths that have been attracted to each of our moth traps. Field Guides will be available to help identification.
8am Selborne Commn Walk with Chris Webb our Local National Trust Warden
9.15am – 10.30am Summary of bioblitz findings
