It’s Half Term again which means that there is plenty to do at Gilbert White & The Oates Collections.
At the start of the school holidays we have bird theme, with a free activity for the garden. On Saturday 18th & Sunday 19th join us for the Great Backyard Bird Count, a national bird survey by grabbing an identification sheet and seeing who you can spot in our gardens.
Also on Saturday 18th join us for our Bird Box Building workshop. Find out what types of bird boxes different birds prefer and make your own to put up in your garden. All materials supplied, woodworking tools will be used. This activity is suitable from ages 8 years and above, and requires booking in advance.
Later in the week we’ll be looking at some birds a little further away from home, without free Penguin craft days on Tuesday 21st & Thursday 23rd (11am-2pm), for no extra charge join us at the Museum for a drop in arts and crafts session suitable for all ages.
And if that’s not enough on Wednesday 22nd you can become an Antarctic Explorer yourself! Go behind the scenes to find out about the equipment you would need to take, bake your own bannock bread and make a souvenir just like Captain Scott. This session will run twice with a morning session for 5-9 year olds and an afternoon session for those 10+.
All our family activities are on our website and booking is essential for our workshops to avoid disappointment!
