Learn to #BeMoreGilbert! The naturalist Gilbert White, ‘Father of Ecology’, is an inspiring model for nature connectedness.
This session gives plentiful ideas for embedding the 5 pathways to Nature Connectedness into different curriculum areas including art, creative writing, maths, science, music and RE.
Gilbert White was an 18th Century amateur naturalist and writer who lived his whole life in Selborne, Hampshire. His much-loved book ‘The Natural History of Selborne’ is a perfect example of Nature Connectedness at work in one man’s life. He inspired many writers and naturalists, including the young Charles Darwin.
Fiona Oakley our Learning Manager, who will lead this session, has many years of classroom teaching experience and recently completed a course on Nature Connectedness.
The online CPD for Teachers Project is funded through the South Downs National Park Authority by Generation Green – a multiagency project funded by UK Government to help young people recover from the negative economic and health impacts of COVID related restrictions.
