See the Stars in Selborne
We are celebrating alongside the South Downs National Park with their Dark Skies Festival and will be hosting two star gazing events as part of the local festival, which celebrates the night sky all over the national park from the 9th till the 25th February.
On Wednesday 21st at the Gilbert White Field Studies Centre the team will be hosting an Introductory Astronomy Night. We invite you to explore the night sky with a short topical talk on astronomy and an exploration of the night sky lead by Graham Bryant from the Hampshire Astronomical Group showing you highlights to look out for in your local skies.
The following day the museum is hosting an exciting opportunity to involve the whole family with their Family Space Explorer sessions. These family friendly astronomy taster sessions are in three parts, as you travel through space in a giant inflatable dome with Bob Mizon, learn about Meteors with our education team and explore night skies above Selborne with Graham Bryant from the Hampshire Astronomical Group.
Booking for the sessions is essential so make sure to get your place!!
