Do you want to build an Ice Palace?

Louise our Education Manager tells us about what’s happening at our Snow Queen Activity Morning on the 12th December!

Jump into your Christmas preparations on the 12th December this year and join us for a lovely day filled with Christmas crafts and a family friendly production of Hans Christian Andersen’s enchanting adventure story with themes of love, friendship and courage, inspiration for Disney’s hugely popular Frozen.

In the morning from 10am to 12.30, families can bring along their little elves to get stuck into creating a whole range of traditional paper Christmas decorations and snow queen crowns and wands ahead of The Snow Queen Performance in the afternoon. From paper chains and snowflakes to stars and fairies and cheeky paper gingerbread men to hang on the branches, creativity can run riot using even the most simple of craft materials. Everything you make can be taken home with you although we will have our Field Studies centre tree that you can help decorate if you wish. Also, we will be setting you the challenge of helping us create a super long paper chain to decorate the Barn with ahead of the theatre performance.

One of my favourite decorations that children will be able to create will be a cornucopia, a little decorated pouch filled with a sweet to hang on the tree.

The craft activities cost just £4 per child with accompanying adults free and this includes all materials and some light refreshments. You can either stay for the whole session or drop in when the time is best for you. All ages are very welcome to attend. Then there’s just time to go and have your lunch ahead of the magical performance of Snow Queen in the afternoon.
