This is a Light Festival with a difference – we will be using renewable energy sources, solar power and low-level lighting with environmental consciousness at its core, remembering Gilbert White and his internationally important legacy to ecology. Fun for all the family, this is a chance to make new memories and discover how you can make changes to help wildlife and the environment around you.
As seen on the BBC News, we were delighted to have been awarded £41,455.48 of funding from East Hampshire District Council through the Rural Grant, which is part of their Grow Up programme. It supports rural economy, reconnects people with countryside, provides new skills, new careers and new opportunities for residents. This project was part funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund.
PowerQuad, based at BASE Bordon Innovation Centre are leading the way in cleaner, greener, portable energy, and we are delighted to be working amongst them and Quality Marquees Hire Limited to create this magical new experience.
We are also delighted to feature the work of four creatives within White’s Eco Light Festival – Louise Arthur, willow weaver, has created magical paper lanterns dotted around the house and gardens. Tiffany Francis-Baker has written a special poem ‘Swifts’ celebrating the migratory birds, William Lindley has created a visual art installation inspired by the house, landscape and wildlife and Jacqueline Rolls has sculpted wonderful willow sculptures throughout the gardens. The artists have been supported using public funding by the National Lottery through Arts Council England.
