House, Gardens & Cafe Open Tuesday - Sunday 10.30 - 17.00

Gilbert White's House & Gardens puts sustainability at the heart of its nature-themed shop.

The shop is filled with nature inspired gifts, making brilliant presents for all the family. The shop stocks a diverse array of eco products, from a variety of local craftspeople. There is boutique jewellery, clothing, accessories, nature-themed books, toys and sustainable homeware products, and cards by local artists.

Organic produce from the garden are on offer in the shop. Honey from the apiary, jams from the berries and seed packets from the flowers have all been produced by our volunteers. Gin using the year's fruits produced at Winchester Distillery, Cuvée Brut and Rosé Brut produced by Hambledon Wineries and craft beer from the onsite 1765 brewhouse are also available.

To continue White's legacy, the museum and gardens are run with sustainability at the core of its operations. Every year there is an Eco Christmas Fair, and having sustainably based craft stalls at the annual Nature Day in May and Unusual Plants Fair in June is a top priority. Craft workshops are also run throughout the year, including creative collaging, needle felting, willow weaving, wreath making and more!

Gilbert White's House & Gardens also has an Artist in Residence (annual placement) and the artist contributes to art and craft in the shop, as well as workshops for families and schools.
