Just love visiting this place! Lovely house with interesting and interactive museum displays. Good for kids and adults alike.

Exquisite house with a great story well told of Britain’s first ecologist and nature journalist, Gilbert White… Add to that the story and display of Scott’s Antarctic ill-fated expedition and the inquisitive mind will be well satisfied.

We went on a Nature Day event, with walks and talks on a range of subjects and activities for children to partake in.

The house and gardens are great for children and access is good for the less mobile.

A nice shop, where I couldn’t resist a new plant for the garden.
Home -
There was a range of things to do (pull out drawers, pencil rubbings, photo opportunities etc)… I will definitely return with my own, younger children as I am sure they will like it too.

Visited during the Unusual Plants Fair, it was very well organised and the gardens looked very pretty.

We had a guide around the house – she really knew about Gilbert White and his family. Fascinating to listen to.

Superb organisation for a Group visit of 12 that was pre-booked… dedication to the life and works of Gilbert White and Captain Oates was remarkable.

We had a walk around the garden, and we had coffee and cake in the cafe. The gift shop is well stocked with lovely gifts.

Most importantly the museum tells its stories very well, but I won’t spoil them here.
