2019 Recap!
2019 was supposed to be a restful year between the craziness of opening our new galleries in 2018 and the craziness of Gilbert White’s tercentenary in 2020… how wrong we were.
January: Hampshire Scout Joe, made his way from Selborne in November to the South Pole in January!
February: A great month for Antarctic activities with our temporary exhibition, two talks, half term events, plus some snow for good measure!
March: SpringWatch were here to film for the RSPB’s back from the brink project to save the field cricket!
April: The Friends set out to walk from Selborne to Ringmer to raise money for the museum.
May: Our very successful Edward Lear Exhibition opened.
June: We marked the 250th anniversary of the 1769 Transit of Venus.
July: We launched our GW300 celebrations at the Natural History Museum.
August: We announced that Khalid Aziz had been appointed chair of Trustees.
September: Our Art Exhibition Pond: Mere, Rune, Flint opened.
October: We welcomed our GW300 partners to Selborne.
November: Our inaugural Eco Fair!
December: We celebrated Christmas with our visitors at Mulled Wine Weekend, with our volunteers and at our staff lunch!
